What happens to a Scout? For every 100 boys who join Scouting, records indicate that:

- RARELY will one be brought before the juvenile court system
- 3 will become Eagle Scouts
- 17 will become future Scout volunteers
- 12 will have their first contact with a church
- 1 will enter the clergy
- 5 will earn their church award
- 18 will develop a hobby that will last through their adult
life
- 8 will enter a vocation that was learned through the merit
badge system
- 1 will use his Scouting skills to save his own life
- 1 will use his Scouting skills to save the life of another
person

- 85% of student council presidents were Scouts
- 89% of senior class presidents were Scouts
- 80% of junior class presidents were Scouts
- 75% of school publication editors were Scouts
- 71% of football captains were Scouts

Scouts also account for:

- 68% of West Point graduates
- 70% of Annapolis graduates
- 72% of Rhodes Scholars
- 85% of F.B.I. agents
- 26 of the first 29 astronauts

Volunteer Positions Within the Pack

Adult Leader positions: Become a leader for your child's den and pack. While some training is required, it's only a few hours a year and cost is covered by the pack! It's a chance to spend better quality time with your son and his friends, and a highly rewarding experience.

This requires a small registration fee with the BSA and training.

Committee Positions: Help the pack as a whole. Available to all parents and adult leaders.

This means YOU. The pack's committee makes decisions which affect your child. Wouldn't you like an opinion on our events, budget, and goals? We meet the first Tuesday of every month at Grace Presbyterian. Come be a part of the process!

No fee is required, but the training is still suggested and highly recommended.

Take a look at the pack organization chart and see where your talents might best help!

Leader Training

Are you a leader in Pack 202, or even just an invested parent? Become a trained volunteer!

All adult leaders, even Committee Members, should be full trained. 'Every scout deserves a trained leader!'

Check out the Alachua District's training schedule. Most of the classes are free (or very inexpensive) and some can even be taken online!
